The project activities are well on their way. After the first LTTA 1 activities, our teachers have started implementing the Dialogic Gatherings in all partner countries.
Due to the travelling restrictions, the LTTA 1 activities started online on the 28th of April 2022. The activity gave us the first insight into the Dialogic Gathering methodology. However, the in-depth LTTA 1 meeting was held in Barcelona from 27th to 29th September. Organized by the lead partner, the rest of the partners along with the implementers (the teachers) had had a chance not only to clear any issues and questions they had but we had a chance to witness the process in real life.
Upon our return, we had a chance to discuss what we heard, saw, and learnt, and since then our teachers have started the implementation of the Dialogic Gatherings methodology at their respective schools/classes. The first feedback is promising, however, there still are some issues regarding the motivation of the kids. The approach of learning through debate is a new concept in many schools, and that will take some time to be accepted in the environment.
The Dialogic Gatherings methodology is a well-established practice across Europe that’s been implemented in hundreds of schools since 1995. The Dive In Dialogue project is aiming to transfer this methodology to primary and secondary school systems in new countries. Another new concept that Dive In Dialogue project is striving to implement and is the main deviation from the Dialogic Literary Gatherings is the use of the greatest works in music, mathematics, arts, literature and science. With this approach, we are trying to show that personal development and growth come mainly from the dialogue we hold about these works, not the works themselves.
